The following is an amateur translation of the poem I did to help my daughter for her studies.

विचार लो कि मत्र्य हो न मृत्यु से डरो कभी, Mortal you are, remember never to be afraid of death.
मरो परन्तु यों मरो कि याद जो करे सभी। Die but die in a way that your death is remembered by all.
हुई न यों सुमृत्यु तो वृथा मरे, वृथा जिये, The one who did not die such a good death – lived in vain and died in vain.
नहीं वहीं कि जो जिया न आपके लिए। Not so for the one who did not live for himself.
यही पशु–प्रवृत्ति है कि आप आप ही चरे, It is the animals which move on their own
वही मनुष्य है कि जो मनुष्य के लिए मरे।। But he alone is a man – who dies for (another) man .
उसी उदार की कथा सरस्वती बखानवी The legend of the same kind man is praised by Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom.
उसी उदार से धरा कृतार्थ भाव मानती। The same kindness is considered by the whole earth as the feeling of gratitude.
उसी उदार की सदा सजीव कीर्ति कूजती; The glory of the same kindness is always sung in sweet live tunes (by the world).
तथा उसी उदार को समस्त सृष्टि पूजती। And the same generosity is worshiped by all the creations. (every creation / entire universe).
अखण्ड आत्मभाव जो असीम विश्व में भरे, (That man whose) boundless feeling of his soul which has filled this limitless universe
वही मनुष्य है कि जो मनुष्य के लिये मरे।। He alone is a man – who dies for man ..
सहानुभूति चाहिए, महाविभूति है वही; (Man) needs to have sympathy (for fellow humans) – it is (a quality of) great majesty.
वशीकृता सदैव है बनी हुई स्वयं मही। Mother earth herself remains captivated forever (by such a man).
विरूद्धवाद बुद्ध का दया–प्रवाह में बहा, Even thoughts of discordance of Buddha (to age old superstitious practices) flowed in a river of compassion.
विनीत लोक वर्ग क्या न सामने झुका रहे? What (or who) will not kneal before such gracious people?
अहा! वही उदार है परोपकार जो करे Oh, he is the man of generosity who helps others
वहीं मनुष्य है कि जो मनुष्य के लिए मरे।। He is the man, who dies for another man..
अनंत अंतरिक्ष में अनंत देव हैं खड़े, Infinite number of Gods stand in the infinite space
समक्ष ही स्वबाहु जो बढ़ा रहे बड़े–बड़े। Before whose own arms (these Gods themselves) grow larger and larger.
परस्परावलम्ब से उठो तथा बढ़ो सभी, Raise all and grow by helping each other
अभी अमत्र्य–अंक में अपंक हो चढ़ो सभी। The blemished go climb in to the laps of Gods now
रहो न यों कि एक से न काम और का सरे, Live as one and never back out from helping others
वही मनुष्य है कि जो मनुष्य के लिए मरे।। He is the man, who dies for another man..
“मनुष्य मात्र बन्धु है” यही बड़ा विवेक है, Great wisdom is realizing that fellow man is but our own brother.
पुराणपुरूष स्वयंभू पिता प्रसिद्ध एक है। The self born and ancient father of all is known as one.
फलानुसार कर्म के अवश्य बाह्य भेद है External differences are sure to be there based on the fruits of one’s past deeds.
परंतु अंतरैक्य में प्रमाणभूत वेद हैं। But in the unity of souls do the scriptures are witnessed.
अनर्थ है कि बंधु हो न बंधु की व्यथा हरे, He is not the brother who does not take away the agony of his own brother
वही मनुष्य है कि जो मनुष्य के लिए मरे।। He is the man, who dies for another man..
चलो अभीष्ट मार्ग में सहर्ष खेलते हुए, Go happily playing along on your intended path,
विपत्ति विप्र जो पड़ें उन्हें ढकेलते हुए। Noble are the men who fall down pushing down the adversities.
घटे न हेल मेल हाँ, बढ़े न भिन्नता कभी, Yes, coming together may decline, but splitting apart will never increase.
अतर्क एक पंथ के सतर्क पंथ हों सभी। From insensible, become a clan of sensible people.
तभी समर्थ भाव है कि तारता हुआ तरे, In the richness of unity lie able thoughts.
वही मनुष्य है कि जो मनुष्य के लिए मरे।। He is the man, who dies for another man..
